Responsibilities of a Solar Sales Representative:
- Conduct both inbound and outbound calling campaigns to engage business prospects within an assigned territory.
- Develop new opportunities, expand accounts, and strategically grow territories by identifying and pursuing potential leads.
- Prospect for new business opportunities and generate leads through targeted outreach.
- Contact, qualify, and manage leads generated from marketing efforts, nurturing them until they are ready for a product demonstration by the sales team.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Development Manager to optimize outreach strategies and determine areas of focus.
- Analyze customer needs by understanding current business challenges, identifying opportunities, and defining the scope of potential solutions.
- Work alongside sales representatives to maximize the potential of each prospect.
- Provide support for marketing programs and events to enhance lead generation and brand visibility.
- Utilize various software tools to track, manage, and analyze outreach efforts effectively.
Requirements for the Solar Sales Representative Role:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an inside sales position, preferably in a solution-selling environment; experience in the solar or software industry is a plus.
- Highly energetic, positive, and a team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships over the phone.
- Capable of understanding complex solutions and committed to continuous learning to keep up with a constantly evolving market.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding individual and team sales targets and quotas.
- Advanced skills in prospecting and qualifying leads.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and process-focused.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with cold calling is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using standard corporate productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and strong phone skills.
- Excellent email and internet research skills.
- A strong desire to build a career in sales.
- Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce.com and other related online solutions is desired.
