Data Specialist

Position Overview

emerjence LLC is seeking an experienced Data Specialist to support the analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and ongoing operation of IT systems. The Data Specialist will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to evaluate requirements, develop effective system solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide recommendations related to supported systems and technical architecture.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and technical capabilities with experience translating business and technical requirements into effective IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform requirements gathering and analysis for new and existing IT systems and technical solutions.
• Support systems design, development, integration, testing, implementation, and operational activities.
• Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements and translate them into system requirements and recommendations.
• Conduct analysis of alternatives to evaluate potential technical solutions and recommend appropriate approaches.
• Support system architecture, design, and integration activities across applications, platforms, and technical environments.
• Diagnose system issues and perform problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Coordinate with technical teams and stakeholders to address system defects, operational issues, and enhancement requirements.
• Provide business, functional, and technical leadership related to supported IT systems and solutions.
• Develop recommendations regarding technical architecture, system improvements, integration approaches, and operational processes.
• Support system testing and validation to ensure technical solutions meet established requirements and performance expectations.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, requirements documentation, system specifications, and other project deliverables.
• Communicate technical concepts, findings, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to system performance, reliability, functionality, and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in systems analysis, data analysis, systems engineering, IT development, or a related technical field.
• Experience performing requirements analysis and supporting the design, development, testing, or operation of IT systems.
• Experience with system integration and technical problem diagnosis and resolution.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting federal government IT programs or contracts.
• Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and developing technical recommendations.
• Knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and processes.
• Experience with system architecture, integration, testing, and operational support.
• Ability to develop clear technical documentation, requirements, and system specifications.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between business requirements, system functionality, and technical architecture.
• Experience working in complex IT environments involving multiple systems, applications, or stakeholders.
