Research and Development Engineer - Remote, Cyprus

Our client is a leading technology provider in the CPaaS (Communication Platform as a Service) space and is seeking a R&D Engineer to help shape the future of connectivity. This role is ideal for a curious and innovative professional passionate about emerging technologies in AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and telecom infrastructure.

In this role, You will dive into the deep end of technology, experimenting with innovations in AI, networking, cloud, and cybersecurity. Your work will fuel the evolution of the company's products, services, and infrastructure and keep them two steps ahead of the industry curve.

You'll get to:

• Explore and analyze emerging technologies in telecom and AI, assessing their potential impact on infrastructure, security, and user experience
• Prototype and test software solutions, pushing performance and functionality forward with every iteration
• Conduct hands-on investigations of security vulnerabilities, including basic penetration testing to strengthen our systems
• Apply your understanding of networking fundamentals to troubleshoot, design, and improve telecom solutions
• Collaborate across departments to translate research into real-world products and document your discoveries in ways that drive the next big leap

Requirements: 

• Youve developed software in a professional setting using a language like Python, Java, or C++
• You understand networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, routing, and firewalls and have used them to solve real problems
• You have experience investigating security issues, including penetration testing or threat assessment
• You're passionate about learning and have a track record of digging deep into new technologies
• You're thoughtful, analytical, and love solving problems others haven't cracked yet

It would be nice if: 

• You've worked with telecom-specific protocols or have prior experience in the telecommunications sector
• Youve experimented with or deployed solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Youve used tools like Wireshark, TCP Dump, or similar frameworks for security and networking analysis
• You're familiar with DevOps or automation technologies and enjoy building scalable systems
• You're a builder, whether that means side projects, labs, or experiments, you're always learning by doing
