In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing AWS cloud databases, ensuring data security, and supporting large-scale data migrations to cloud solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot database issues, implement performance improvements, and ensure the integrity and reliability of critical data systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support AWS cloud databases, ensuring performance optimization, backups, and replication.
  • Oversee the migration of large datasets between on-premise databases and cloud solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient database systems to support business operations.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring fast query execution and system reliability.
  • Implement robust database security protocols to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Conduct regular database backups, replication, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to troubleshoot database-related issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend database technologies and tools to enhance overall system performance.
  • Assist in database capacity planning and scalability efforts to support company growth.
  • Document database procedures, configurations, and processes to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on database-related issues to internal teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Experience with AWS cloud databases is a must
  • Strong expertise in database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  • In-depth knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with database backup, replication, and recovery procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) are a plus.
