Product Owner - Internal Platform

Our client is a Tech Company specializing in the maritime sector and seeking to hire a Product Owner to take full ownership of its Internal Development Platform (IDP). In this position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the platform as a product by streamlining development, fostering automation, and enabling scalable services for product teams. Acting as the voice of the platforms users, the Product Owner drives innovation, usability, and stability, ensuring the platform evolves in alignment with business and technology goals.

Responsibilities:

Product Ownership & Roadmap Management

• Oversees the platform backlog, balancing service needs and feature requests.
• Collaborates with architects and product teams to define and prioritize epics and roadmap items.
• Applies a product mindset to deliver incremental value quickly and iteratively.
• Collects and integrates feedback from developers and other stakeholders to enhance platform usability.

Platform Stability & Service Management

• Defines and monitors Service Level Objectives (SLOs) in collaboration with Site Reliability Engineers.
• Manages the incident response process and ensures timely resolution of platform-related issues.
• Conducts root cause analysis for major incidents and ensures robust disaster recovery plans.
• Oversees user access, platform security configurations, and compliance with internal controls.

Platform Operations & Resource Management

• Manages cloud services, licenses, provisioning, and configuration of platform infrastructure.
• Supports application deployment, testing, and troubleshooting across development environments.
• Coordinates platform updates, including version control, backups, and database maintenance.
• Tracks usage statistics and monitors expenditure to guide platform optimization efforts.

Ecosystem Enablement & Integration Governance

• Maintains a comprehensive catalog of platform components, interfaces, and APIs.
• Ensures effective usage and support of published APIs across platform tenants.
• Promotes interoperability and ensures integration practices align with security and compliance standards.
• Supports development teams with onboarding, documentation, and integration reviews.

Technology Innovation & Experimentation

• Partners with architects and engineers to explore new technologies and run proof-of-concept projects.
• Evaluates emerging tools and methodologies to enhance platform capabilities and performance.

Key Stakeholder Relationships

Internal Stakeholders:

• Leading product managers, infrastructure and operations teams, architects, and support staff.

External Stakeholders:

• Technology vendors, API consumers, and industry regulatory bodies.

Background and Experience:

Professional Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in technical product ownership, delivery management, or platform management roles.
• Proven experience with platform engineering, DevOps practices, and cloud-based ecosystems.
• Prior experience working in complex environments involving multiple integrations and stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies for product delivery.
• Experience managing external vendors and third-party services.
• High-level understanding of platform architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and incident management.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards (IAM, OAuth, GDPR, etc.)

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred.
• ITIL Foundation certification desirable.

Technical Expertise:

• Cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure) and Kubernetes.
• API and integration management, including API gateways.
• Low-code development platforms and application lifecycle management.
• Monitoring and observability tools aligned with SRE principles.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps pipeline automation.

Package and Benefits:

• Salary depends on experience and qualifications: 70,000 - 74,000 EUR Gross per year (including 13th salary)
