Job Openings Junior Tax Associate

About the job Junior Tax Associate

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus (Hybrid)

Salary: Competitive entry-level salary, with a clear path for growth based on performance, discipline and skill development. Full details shared with shortlisted candidates.

Who We Are

A growing tax and technology business helping individuals and companies handle their tax matters with clarity, speed and confidence. We combine practical expertise with a modern, commercially driven approach, and we're building a team of people who think the same way.

The Role

We are looking for a Junior Tax Associate who is early in their career, technically curious and genuinely entrepreneurial in spirit. This is a role for someone who wants to build real expertise in tax and accounting while also developing a commercial, business-minded outlook, not someone looking for a fixed, routine job with a ceiling on growth.

You'll start with foundational tax and compliance work, but how far and how fast you grow here depends entirely on your discipline, motivation and appetite to learn. We're not looking for a finished product, we're looking for someone who wants to become one, and is willing to put in the work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist with preparing and reviewing personal income tax forms and basic tax computations
  • Support VAT and other routine compliance filings under guidance
  • Track deadlines and submission progress through internal systems, methodically and without slippage
  • Follow up with clients on pending documents, exemptions and status updates
  • Maintain accurate, well-organized records and documentation
  • Liaise with external accountants and partners for coordination and document collection
  • Support back-office admin: invoicing, task monitoring, data organisation
  • Take on increasing responsibility over time as your technical skill and judgement develop

What We're Looking For

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in tax, accounting, audit or a related field (internships count)
  • Early-career professional, someone still building their professional foundation
  • Currently pursuing, or open to starting, a professional qualification (ACCA, ACA or similar); not mandatory, but a genuine willingness to invest in one matters
  • Real entrepreneurial spirit; sees opportunity, takes initiative, thinks beyond the task in front of them
  • Strong discipline and follow-through; someone who does what they say they'll do, consistently
  • Basic to solid understanding of accounting/tax fundamentals, with a genuine hunger to go deeper
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially under deadlines
  • Comfortable with digital tools (Excel and similar systems)
  • Good communication skills in Greek and English

What Sets This Role Apart

This isn't a role for someone chasing the highest starting salary elsewhere for the same qualifications. It's for someone who wants a career built on substance: real technical skill, real commercial exposure and real growth, with income that follows performance rather than tenure alone. If you're optimizing purely for immediate pay, this probably isn't the right fit. If you're optimizing for where you'll be in 3 to 5 years, it might be exactly right.

What You'll Get

  • Competitive entry-level salary with a clear, performance-based path to increase within 12 to 24 months
  • Hybrid working arrangement after onboarding/training
  • Structured, hands-on training in personal tax, compliance and digital tools
  • Real exposure to both technical tax work and the commercial side of running a growing business
  • ACCA Approved Employer; support for professional development
  • A non-corporate, supportive culture where initiative is noticed and rewarded
