Job Overview:
We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Key Account Manager to join our team, focusing on selling private label dough-based products to the foodservice industry. Based in Cavan, Ireland, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with foodservice operators, wholesalers, and distributors, driving sales and ensuring the successful positioning of our dough products in kitchens across the country.
This role requires an individual with strong experience in the foodservice channel, excellent relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to deliver sales growth. You will work closely with clients to meet their private label needs, offering tailored dough solutions to meet their operational and culinary requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key foodservice accounts, including wholesalers, distributors, and large-scale kitchens.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Understand client requirements and develop custom private label dough-based product solutions that meet their specific needs.
- Sales Growth & Strategy:
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve volume and profit targets within the foodservice channel.
- Drive new business opportunities by identifying and targeting potential foodservice clients, including restaurant chains, hotels, catering companies, and institutional buyers.
- Manage and grow private label partnerships with foodservice customers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet their branding and product specifications.
- New Business Development:
- Actively prospect for new foodservice accounts and generate leads to grow the company's presence in the market.
- Present and pitch private label dough-based products (e.g., pizza dough, pastry, bread dough) to potential clients, highlighting the value of customisation, quality, and service.
- Negotiation & Contracts:
- Lead negotiations with foodservice buyers regarding pricing, product specifications, packaging, delivery schedules, and promotional opportunities.
- Ensure commercial agreements are met, overseeing the end-to-end process from order placement to delivery and post-sale support.
- Product & Market Insights:
- Keep up to date with industry trends, customer preferences, and market dynamics within the foodservice sector.
- Provide market feedback to the product development team to innovate and improve product offerings based on customer needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, operations, and supply chain) to ensure the smooth delivery of private label products according to customer specifications.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop sales materials and promotional campaigns targeted at foodservice clients.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports on account progress, market developments, and competitor activity to senior management.
- Use data and analytics to assess the success of key accounts and make recommendations for improvement or growth.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in sales or account management, ideally within the foodservice or FMCG sector.
- Proven track record in managing key accounts and delivering sales growth, particularly within private label food products.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence decision-makers.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in contract negotiation and account profitability management.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Education:
- Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
