We are looking for an External Advisor to the Investment Committee to provide an independent senior view on investment strategy, team matters, and selected reviews across the fund's book.
This is an advisory, non-voting role. The advisor has no quorum contribution, no decision-making authority, no trading authority, and no line management responsibility.
Scope
The advisor will support the Investment Committee across:
- Systematic quant strategies in liquid crypto derivatives
- DeFi yield and tokenised credit positions
- Private market secondaries
- External manager allocations
- Testing sandbox for candidate strategies and external managers
Key Responsibilities
- Attend Investment Committee meetings and provide independent challenge
- Submit written opinions for the record when requested
- Review proposed and existing strategies across the fund's book
- Provide an independent view on investment team structure, scope, and resourcing
- Conduct an initial express review of the Quant Desk, with findings clearly separated from opinion
First Mandate: Quant Desk Review - the first engagement will assess the internal systematic trading function, including: strategy rationale and economic logic, research process, signal selection, and validation quality.
Required Experience
- Strong quantitative finance background, ideally from hedge funds or asset management
- Direct experience with systematic / code-based trading strategies, not only discretionary trading
- Experience with market-neutral, long-short, statistical arbitrage, or high-turnover systematic strategies
- Experience in crypto perpetual futures; relevant high-turnover systematic trading experience in other asset classes may also be considered
- Strong understanding of perpetual futures mechanics: funding, mark price, liquidation, ADL, P&L, and risk impact
- Ability to review a research stack end to end: feature engineering, signal search, alpha combination, portfolio construction, neutralisation, and execution
- Ability to assess whether an edge survives turnover, fees, spread, and slippage
- Ability to distinguish backtests, paper trading, production results, and illustrative materials
- Ability to separate engineering complexity from investable edge
- Willingness to give a direct, independent recommendation and defend it
