Job: Business Analyst – Data Governance
Location: Dublin, hybrid — 2-3 days/week in office (North Dublin)
Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months
Salary / Rate: 350-375 per day
We are a looking for a talented Business Analyst with experience supporting enterprise Data Governance initiatives. In the job, you will be defining requirements, improving data quality/governance processes, and acting as the bridge between business stakeholders (Data & Analytics, Technology, Customer, Commercial, Finance, Operations) and technical teams. You would report to the Data Governance Lead.
The role will split is roughly 70% Business Analysis/Stakeholder Management, 30% Data Governance/technical understanding — this is not a Data Engineer or Data Architect role.
We are looking for people with the below experience:
- Proven Business Analyst experience in data, analytics, governance, or technology environments
- Hands-on experience with Data Governance and Data Quality programmes — mandatory
- Experience gathering/documenting business and functional requirements
- Experience facilitating workshops and stakeholder sessions
- Knowledge of data catalogue/metadata management platforms (Atlan, Collibra, Purview)
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements
- Ideally some experience with Data Access Management processes
- Some exposure to Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, or Databricks
- Some experience using Jira and Confluence
- Ideally a background in enterprise-scale, customer, finance, or operational organisations
- Consulting experience in Data Governance or Data Transformation
Please note, that this role is not really suited to people with the below, if it mixes with the above, we would be keen to speak with you.
- No hands-on exposure to Data Governance, Data Quality, or Data Management initiatives (this is why the previous candidate didn't work out — governance experience is now non-negotiable)
- Heavily technical profile lacking real Business Analysis experience
- Pure reporting/BI Analyst background with limited stakeholder engagement
- Limited experience gathering requirements or facilitating workshops
- Experience limited to project administration rather than true BA responsibilities
- Cannot realistically commit to regular Dublin office attendance
