Description
- Delivers safe, optimized and quality operations. Ensures correct planning and assignment of activities within the assigned personnel in Drilling Operations Team.
- Attends selected rig move meetings to ensure COMPANY interests are maintained and to identify opportunity for improvements.
- Responsible to lead rig inspection and close out all critical action register in accordance to industry standards and COMPANY minimum requirements.
- Ensures well integrity in line with COMPANY procedures
- Interface with sub-surface and project teams to ensure all drilling / sub-surface and project technical issues are resolved and all SIMOPS (if any) and interactive operations are managed safely.
- Represents the department on rotational duty, as Operations Advisor on the Corporate Emergency Co-ordination Team. Is fully conversant with the Corporate and Departmental Emergency Response procedures. Ensures Drilling Contractor (under his control) emergency procedures are up to date and consistent with COMPANY emergency procedures
- Maintains professional working relationships with Partners and the primary drilling contractor and all other Service Providers in order to delivery safe and efficient wells.
- Participates in the multi-disciplinary team well project planning, execution and review process. Reviews and works closely with Drilling Engineers on drilling program and detailed drilling instructions with assigned Drilling Supervisors. Challenges practices and procedures where opportunity exists to optimize and improve technical delivery.
- Reviews well progress against plan, assess and share any impacts to overall schedule and delivery of development plans.
- Coaches and develops assigned staff to reach their ultimate potential. Ensures adequate technical and soft skills training are undertaken.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by team such as preparing periodic and special reports, attending daily coordination and front-end loading meetings.
- Ensure all lessons learned are accurately captured in a high level of detail for implementation on subsequent projects. Lessons Learned register will be maintained throughout the operation.
- Guides, directs and supervises Drilling Supervisors to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a team.
- Works in line with HSE Policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules, regulations, Nippon Operating Practices. Revises work methods and performance standards according to general drilling practices and procedures.
- Works according to Nippon's established policies and professional/engineering standards. Takes initiative when studying and providing appropriate recommendations.
- Refers major problems, changes in programs to Drilling Manager for decision. Work accomplishments are subject to managerial review.
Requirement
- High School certificate, diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience of at least 10 years of core drilling experience and including one (1) project experience in HPHT operation with relevant land/offshore drilling experience.
- Valid IWCF (International Well Control Forum) certificate.
- Must possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and can work well in a team environment
