Scope of Works:
- Represent Company's Exploration/Development Department at the wellsite and be responsible for carrying out Company's requirements in all geological matters and ensure exploration/development and geological objectives as specified in the well program are met.
- Daily reporting to Kuala Lumpur (KL) Operations Geologist and Drilling Supervisor. Keeping them fully informed of all formation evaluation operations.
- Supervision of Formation Evaluation contractors services (Mudlogging, LWD/MWD, Wireline Logging, Coring).
- Logistics concerning the formation evaluation contractors and their equipment.
- All safety aspects for the well and personnel during these evaluation operations.
- Quality control of all evaluation results and logs prior to accepting the data or logs from those contractors.
- Checking all reports and logs from formation evaluation contractors prior to sending them to Company' KL.
- Examine and describe drill cuttings, core (if programmed) and sidewall core samples using standard reporting formats. Provide an ongoing analysis and correlation of formation tops and objective intervals penetrated.
- Observe, record, evaluate and report all cuttings/gas/fluid samples and hydrocarbon shows.
- Monitor drilling mud properties, provide logistical support to drilling operations, participate in ongoing discussions involving geological requirements, hole conditions, pore pressure predictions, revisions to well objectives and assist in casing point selection.
- Supervise the recovery and processing of cores (conventional and sidewall) and provide geological descriptions.
- Monitoring and supervising the collecting, processing, and dispatching of all formation evaluation samples (cuttings, cores, gas, fluid) to the appropriate addresses.
- Checking and occasionally approving and signing of service reports of the formation evaluation contractors.
- Generating Daily Reports and Logs for circulation and updating the WINLOG/Gravitas database with daily data.
- Generate and compile all end-of-well reports, e.g., Final Geological Operations Report.
- Data acquisition supervision (LWD, Mudlogging, Wireline, Coring).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Possess a Degree in Geology with a minimum 10 years of practical experience in the subsurface consultative field inclusive of a minimum 4 years of offshore practical experience in well sitting for upstream oil and gas industry including but not limited to:
- 2 wells' experience in Horizontal Drilling
- 3 wells' experience in high-angle (>60° inclination) drilling.
- 1 years' pore pressure experience (logging and sitting for over/under-pressured reservoirs).
- Possess an in-depth knowledge, power user and experience in WINLOG/GRAVITAS software.
- Possess experience in coring operation supervision (full-diameter coring or side-well coring).
- Must have vast knowledge and experience in Malay Basin setting and well sitting in these regions.
- Must be based in Malaysia for easy commute between wells.
- Able to report for offshore duty on a very short notice, ready to work for long and extended hours.
- Required to produce Geological End of Well Reports after each well is drilled.
