Responsibility

  • Prepare tender, technical criteria, cost estimation, all documents and select suitable bidder.
  • Gather all information, prepare MPD program to cover HSE and technical aspect.
  • Closely discuss MPD contractor to prepare MPD program, equipment, mobilization schedule.
  • Review CVs of contractor MPD personnel.
  • Visit Contractor facility to inspect, audit, MPD related equipment and HSE procedure.
  • Supervise and manage MPD operations during drilling projects, ensuring adherence to best practices, safety protocols, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyse wellbore pressure data to optimize drilling parameters, ensuring efficient management of drilling fluid pressure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or equipment failures related to MPD systems.
  • Collaborate closely with drilling engineers, wellsite personnel, and the rig crew to ensure seamless integration of MPD technology within ongoing operations.
  • During commission and/or operation, visit and stay on the rig to supervise installation, commissioning, and routine maintenance of MPD equipment on site.
  • Conduct regular training and mentorship for rig crew and junior engineers on MPD system functionality, operations, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure that MPD procedures comply with relevant environmental and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including drilling logs, incident reports, and operational summaries.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and hazard analysis concerning well control and pressure management.

Requirement

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, or related field) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Certifications in IWCF Well Control or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in MPD operations within the oil & gas industry.
  • Prior experience working with drilling contractors or service companies in MPD related roles.
  • Experience with automation systems related to MPD operations.
  • Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, MPD system technologies, and well control principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in real-time.
  • Familiarity with drilling safety regulations and standards, including HSE practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor other personnel.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel to onshore and offshore rigs as required.
