Responsibilities
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to project specifications, schedules, safety, and quality standards. This role involves monitoring subcontractor performance, providing technical guidance, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. The Construction Supervisor plays a key role in facilitating communication between project stakeholders and ensuring the smooth execution of construction activities
- Project Supervision & Compliance
- Oversee subcontractors to ensure compliance with project schedules, safety regulations, quality standards, and performance expectations.
- Monitor, verify, and report on construction progress and productivity.
- Ensure that project schedules and expectations are clearly communicated to subcontractors and craft workers.
- Track the completion of project activities and report delays or issues to the Construction Manager.
- Technical Coordination & Support
- Provide subcontractors with technical direction and necessary project information.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to assist subcontractors in resolving construction issues.
- Coordinate with the construction engineering team to address technical inquiries and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Schedule & Resource Management
- Monitor construction schedules and ensure all materials, manpower, and resources are available to meet project deadlines.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to maintain progress and productivity targets.
- Conduct subcontractor supervision meetings to review daily, weekly, and monthly plans.
- Safety & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures on-site.
- Conduct job hazard analyses for major construction activities and ensure proper implementation.
- Identify and report non-conformance issues and support quality control efforts.
- Subcontractor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain stable and productive working relationships with subcontractors.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations and project scope.
- Assist in processing extra work authorization requests (RFMPs/WAs) and tracking project changes.
- Communicate subcontractor work plans with other project teams and construction managers to ensure coordination.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily logs and site records for tracking project activities and issues.
- Ensure accurate documentation of subcontractor performance, material usage, and progress tracking.
- Support commercial recovery processes and assist in identifying potential back charges or out-of-scope work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction supervision or site management.
- Experience working on offshore or heavy industrial projects especially for Turret construction or FLNG is advantage.
- Experience in overseeing subcontractors and coordinating large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with construction project management software and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of union agreements and jurisdictional issues (if applicable).
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively coordinate subcontractors and field engineers.
- Problem-solving and conflict management skills to address construction-related challenges.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate project records.
- Willing to involve extended working hours, including weekends, depending on project demands.
