About the job ROV Supervisor (Offshore based)
Responsibilities:
ROV Operations Management:
- Oversee and coordinate all ROV operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of tasks.
- Supervise the launch, recovery, and piloting of the Seaeye Surveyor PLUS 225 inspection-class ROV.
- Manage real-time decision-making during subsea operations, addressing technical and operational challenges.
Survey & Inspection Oversight:
- Plan and supervise platform inspection activities, including:
- Jacket and conductor visual inspections.
- Boat-landing and riser guard surveys.
- Structural integrity checks, including ultrasonic thickness (UT) measurements.
- Wall thickness inspections and assessment of marine growth and scour levels.
- Debris and obstruction surveys within a 500m radius of the platform.
Team & Equipment Management:
- Lead and mentor the ROV team, providing guidance to pilots and technicians.
- Monitor and manage equipment status, maintenance schedules, and fault diagnosis.
- Ensure all technical and operational documentation is completed accurately.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety procedures and IMCA standards.
- Conduct pre- and post-dive safety briefings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with offshore health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
Experience & Certification:
- Minimum of 25 years of experience as an ROV Supervisor.
- IMCA-certified ROV Supervisor (valid certification required).
- Proven track record in offshore ROV operations and team leadership.
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of inspection-class ROV systems, especially the Seaeye Surveyor PLUS 225.
- Experience with subsea inspection techniques, UT measurements, and structural analysis.
- Strong understanding of ROV electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Key Competencies:
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Other Requirements:
- Offshore survival and medical certificates (valid for the job duration).
- Familiarity with offshore operations in Malaysian waters is an advantage
