Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of engineering plans, schedules, and budgets.
    • Coordinate with project management, construction, procurement, and other relevant teams.
    • Ensure that all engineering activities are aligned with project milestones and deadlines.
  2. Technical Leadership:
    • Lead the engineering team in the design and development of power plant systems, including electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
    • Ensure all engineering work meets design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and monitor quality control procedures for engineering activities.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
    • Address any deficiencies or non-conformances in engineering work.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and documentation.
    • Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, including design changes and modifications.
    • Report on progress, issues, and resolutions to senior management.
  5. Resource Management:
    • Allocate and manage engineering resources, including personnel, tools, and materials.
    • Monitor resource utilization to ensure efficient and effective use.
    • Address any resource-related issues or shortages promptly.
  6. Stakeholder Communication:
    • Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory authorities, and community representatives.
    • Address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved in the project.
  7. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure all engineering activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and ensure all safety protocols are followed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years working experience in Power Plant / Cogeneration industry in Project Engineering function
  • Has experience in design & construction of minimum one EPCC or EPCM Power Plant, Cogeneration Projects or equivalent experience as an Engineering Manager
  • Experience in designing and implementing combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT), Open Cycle with Gas Engine Generator or similar power plants.
  • Should have ability to organize and direct all activities pertaining to the design work to meet the schedule, quality and safety requirements of the project
  • Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and standards in Malaysia.
  • Experience working in an international or multicultural environment.
  • Willing to work at Sipitang, Sabah.
