The Planning and Scheduling Manager will oversee and manage all planning and scheduling activities for major oil and gas projects, ensuring that all project milestones, timelines, and objectives are met within budget. The role involves developing comprehensive schedules, coordinating with project teams and contractors, and providing regular status reports to senior management. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in planning and scheduling within the oil and gas industry, coupled with strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and Maintain Project Schedules:
Create, manage, and update detailed project schedules, including baseline schedules and periodic progress updates. Ensure schedules align with project milestones and objectives. - Resource Planning and Allocation:
Coordinate with project and operations teams to determine resource requirements, including manpower, equipment, and materials. Ensure optimal resource allocation to meet project demands. - Schedule Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct critical path analysis, float analysis, and schedule risk assessments. Identify potential delays and develop mitigation strategies. Provide timely reports on project progress, trends, and forecasted completion dates to stakeholders. - Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather input, update schedules, and ensure effective communication across teams. Conduct regular schedule review meetings. - Risk and Change Management:
Identify scheduling risks and proactively address potential delays or changes to project plans. Work with the project team to manage change requests and ensure timely updates to the schedule. - Cost Control and Budgeting Support:
Collaborate with the cost control team to ensure alignment between schedules and project budgets. Provide input on cost forecasts and assist in analyzing schedule-driven cost variations.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. An advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus. - Experience:
Minimum of 8-10 years of planning and scheduling experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
