About the job IT Engineer

The IT Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the company's
IT infrastructure and operational technology (OT) systems to ensure secure, stable, and
efficient business operations across upstream, midstream, and downstream activities.
This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, HSE, and Corporate teams to provide
reliable IT support, infrastructure management, cybersecurity compliance, and digital
solutions aligned with operational and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the company's IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and end-user computing systems.
  • Manage and monitor IT/OT systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and communication-related issues.
  • Support operation and maintenance of industrial and operational systems including SCADA, DCS, CCTV, access control, and field communication systems where applicable.
  • Perform system installation, configuration, patching, backup, and recovery activities.
  • Assist in implementing and enforcing IT policies, cybersecurity controls, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Support cloud-based services, enterprise applications, and digital platforms used within the organization.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance, upgrades, and technical support activities.
  • Participate in IT infrastructure projects, system upgrades, digitalisation initiatives, and technology improvement programs.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation including asset inventories, network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, MCMC, SMA, cybersecurity requirements, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Support users across office and operational sites, including offshore/onshore facilities when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or technical support, preferably within the oil & gas, energy, or industrial sector.
  • Experience in managing servers, networks, virtualization, backup systems, and enterprise IT environments.
  • Familiarity with IT/OT environments, industrial networks, and operational systems is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, firewall management, endpoint protection,
    and access control systems.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, Office 365, cloud platforms, and network infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of LAN/WAN, switches, routers, wireless networks, and VPN
    technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently under operational environments.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to travel to operational sites when required.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
