Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all marine installation activities for offshore oil and gas projects, including topsides, subsea structures, pipelines, and associated facilities.
- Provide engineering expertise in the preparation, review, and validation of marine installation procedures, method statements, and risk assessments in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that all installation operations comply with PETRONAS Technical Requirements, project specifications, and international marine standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, vessel operators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of offshore installation works.
- Review and assess marine spread capabilities, vessel suitability, and equipment readiness prior to mobilization.
- Provide technical support during load-out, transportation, lifting, lowering, and positioning of offshore structures.
- Monitor and evaluate installation progress to ensure adherence to project schedules, HSE standards, and quality requirements.
- Participate in marine assurance reviews, pre-installation briefings, and offshore readiness inspections.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during marine operations to ensure smooth execution and minimize downtime.
- Contribute to lessons learned, post-installation reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives for future offshore installation projects.
Requirements
- Minimum recognized Degree in Engineering or equivalent educational background.
- At least fifteen (15) years of experience in Oil & Gas companies.
- Minimum seven (7) years of practical experience as a Marine Installation Engineer.
- Vast experience and knowledge of PETRONAS Technical Requirements and relevant specifications for the construction or upgrading of offshore facilities.
- Strong understanding of offshore installation methodologies, marine spread operations, and subsea construction activities.
- Familiarity with international marine codes and standards (DNV, API, IMO, etc.).
- Excellent coordination, planning, and communication skills with multidisciplinary and offshore teams.
- Proven ability to manage complex offshore installation scopes under challenging marine and operational conditions.
