Job Description

  • Responsible for providing engineering expertise and technical support for topside facilities in offshore oil and gas projects, including new construction, modification, and upgrading works
  • Oversee design, engineering, and implementation of topside systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, PETRONAS Technical Requirements, and relevant international standards.
  • Review and evaluate engineering deliverables, including drawings, calculations, and technical documents prepared by contractors and vendors.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper integration of topside systems with structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation elements.
  • Provide technical guidance and clarification during engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability studies to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
  • Monitor engineering progress and ensure timely resolution of technical issues in accordance with project schedule and quality requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and third parties to ensure technical alignment and compliance throughout all stages of the project.
  • Support project management in identifying and mitigating technical risks related to topside design and execution.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives for future offshore development projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum recognized Degree in Engineering or equivalent educational background.
  • At least fifteen (15) years of experience in Oil & Gas companies.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of practical experience as a Topside Engineer.
  • Vast experience and knowledge of PETRONAS Technical Requirements and relevant specifications for the construction or upgrading of offshore facilities.
  • Strong understanding of offshore topside design, construction, and integration principles.
  • Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.).
  • Excellent coordination, analytical, and communication skills for effective interface with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven capability to manage technical deliverables and resolve complex engineering issues under challenging project conditions.
