About the job Well Completion Engineer
Responsibilities
- Office-based with regular trips to offshore / onshore drilling unit.
- Plan, lead and supervise all aspects of completion engineering works to ensure the successful, cost-effective, and safe implementation of COMPANY wells in Malaysia. Provide continuous engineering support to project teams to maintain quality and meet safety standards and procedures.
- Utilize technical expertise to design, plan, and execute well completion programs.
- Lead the preparation of well completion programs and obtain necessary approvals in accordance with the COMPANY Drilling Workflow process.
- Strategize, plan, and schedule operations to ensure activities are conducted safely and cost-effectively.
- Coach and mentor engineers assigned to the project team to accelerate their development. Contribute actively to training and development of programs for junior engineers.
- Ensure the integrity of completion equipment, tools, and services through established monitoring and verification programs.
- Minimize Non-Productive Time (NPT) and avoid unnecessary operational costs by proactively identifying risks, analysing NPT trends, and recommending corrective actions.
- When involved in contract establishment, provide technical expertise to review and analyse scopes of work and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements, cost-efficiency, and HSE standards.
- Ensure compliance with COMPANY safety requirements and standards by coordinating and performing on-site rig inspections, acceptance tests for contracted rigs, and reviews of third-party equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Drive improvements in well completion efficiency across all facets of operations.
- Prepare the Final Well Report and conduct an After-Action Review upon well completion.
- Support and actively participate in COMPANY initiatives aimed at improving safety, operational integrity, efficiency, and cost optimisation
Requirement
- Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Attended IWCF Level 4 (Drilling or Well Intervention).
- Minimum ten (10) years' experience in well completion engineering / operation.
- Proficiency in drilling / completion engineering software (i.e.: Wellplan, WellCAT, Openwell, Well Barrier, etc.)
