Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of plant equipment, machinery, and facilities by performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance. The role involves inspecting equipment, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs across electrical, mechanical, or other systems to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. They also support commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts to keep the plant running safely and effectively.
• Must strictly follow health, safety, and regulatory requirements, while coordinating with engineers, planners, and contractors to execute maintenance activities efficiently. Proper documentation of maintenance work, monitoring of equipment condition, and adherence to company procedures are essential to ensure compliance, reliability, and overall asset integrity in the facility

Requirement

• Diploma in science/engineering/technology OR Certificate from INSTEP
• Possess minimum 5 years of experience in supervisory role
• Conversant in :
  • Mechanical systems & equipment fundamentals 
  • Maintenance tools & practices
  • Drawing readin g & basic engineering calculations
• Familiar with Tools Box Session
• Familiar with :
  • CMMS (e.g., SAP PM)
  • Maintenance procedures and job packages
• Ability to :
  • Troubleshoot & diagnose mechanical faults
  • Perform repair and overhaul tasks
  • Problem - solving and analytical thinking
  • Good communication (work with engineers, operators)
  • Teamwork and site coordination'
