Scope of Works:

  • Develop and mature well designs, evaluating design options against project objectives and value drivers in alignment with the companys Well Delivery Process and well design standards.
  • Perform detailed design calculations, including casing design, torque and drag, well trajectory, borehole stability, and kick tolerance using industry-standard software. Evaluate modeling results, identify design issues, and recommend mitigations.
  • Prepare Well Functional Specifications, Well Technical Specifications, and provide input to Well Proposals.
  • Prepare comprehensive drilling programs, along with detailed time and cost estimates prior to well spud.
  • Identify well construction materials, support services, and other long lead items, ensuring timely procurement.
  • Provide daily engineering support to the rig to ensure safe and efficient operations, including offshore engineering support as required.
  • Track cost and schedule performance, providing regular updates and lookahead forecasts. Verify cost entries for accuracy and address discrepancies.
  • Liaise with drilling service contractors and material suppliers to ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with the Wells Contract Specialist in developing contract tenders and farm-in documents, detailed scopes of work, and performing technical evaluations.
  • Act as Contract Holder for drilling-related scopes.
  • Lead and organize Drilling Well on Paper (DWOP) sessions, After Action Reviews (AARs), and final close-out documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate drilling risks, ensuring all mitigations are clearly communicated to the rig team.
  • Capture operational best practices and lessons learned, ensuring integration into future drilling programs and dissemination to the rig team.
  • Prepare and submit permits, NOOPs, and other required regulatory documents in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to peer reviews, technical challenge workshops, shareholder technical reviews, cost reviews, and NPT (Non-Productive Time) discussions.
  • HSE roles:
    • Comply with HSE policies, Life Saving Rules. procedures, goals, and programs within the MBU HSE Management System.
    • Actively engage in and contribute to HSE communication and consultation processes.
    • Actively participate in HSE initiatives and programs that include but not limited to, Safety Observations and HSE Trainings.
    • Support company sustainability development (SD) initiatives and other environmental policies and practices.

Requirement(s):

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Well Engineering, with at least 2 years in a drilling operations role directly managing offshore activities.
  • Holder of IWCF Level 4 (Supervisor) Certificate for Surface BOP Stack.
  • Proven expertise in oil and gas well design, with knowledge of the latest drilling and completions technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in offshore well construction and the ability to oversee daily drilling operations.
  • Strong operational mindset with a solid understanding of personal and process safety.
  • Deep knowledge of well control, well barriers, and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Familiarity with CWI operations and Well Integrity Management.
  • Experience with Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) offshore.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills with strong PC proficiency.
  • Proficient in industry-standard well engineering software and interpretation of results.
  • Prior experience with tender-assisted drilling rigs is an advantage.
