Safety & Health Officer
About the job Safety & Health Officer
Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety & health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Science, Facilities/Operations management, or similar disciplines.
- Registered or recognized by relevant authority (e.g., DOSH – added advantage)
- At least 3 years of HSE or related safety & health experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facilities settings
- Experience in site supervision, inspection, and monitoring during normal and abnormal operations
- Hands-on experience in contractor safety management and enforcement at site
- Experience in Permit-to-Work (PTW) system and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) review
- Exposure to incident reporting, investigation, and tracking of safety findings (UAUC, FLA)
- Mandatory safety training (e.g., HSE, PTW, LOTO, Confined Space, Working at Height)
- Safety competency certifications (e.g., SHO/SSS – added advantage)
- First Aid and Emergency Response training
- Training in Fire Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental Management
- Incident investigation training (e.g., RCA – added advantage)
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and practices in downstream plants
- Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and hazard identification (JHA/JSA)
- Proficient in PTW application and compliance monitoring
- Experience in monitoring contractor activities and enforcing safety requirements
- Ability to track and manage safety findings (UAUC, FLA) and drive closure actions
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and waste management practices
- Enforcement of PPE compliance in line with SIRIM, DOSH, and company standards
- Strong coordination, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration skills
