Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Manager to join our team. This role involves delivering a full range of tax services to clients across various industries while playing a key role in the development of the firms tax services division. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a client-focused mindset.

Major Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage all tax engagements to ensure compliance and deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and/or review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns of varying complexities.
  • Prepare and/or review current and deferred tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740.
  • Conduct quarterly and year-end tax planning estimates for clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Oversee engagement planning, organization, and delegation to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Manage engagement economics, including billing, collections, and profitability.
  • Provide education, training, and mentorship to staff to support professional growth.
  • Participate in the growth and expansion of the tax practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience with a focus on corporate and partnership taxation.
  • Recent tax preparation experience is required.
  • Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing tax provisions under ASC 740.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and a cooperative attitude.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with a Big 4, National, or Regional accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with tax preparation and research software, including ProSystem fx Tax and Engagement, CCH, RIA, and BNA.
  • Advanced degree in accounting, tax, or law.
  • Demonstrated success in a sales-based culture and commitment to expanding the tax practice.

Education

  • Required: Bachelors in Accounting or a related field.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Accounting, Tax, or Law.
