Job Summary:

We are seeking a Process Engineer III for our Specialty Materials business unit. This critical role focuses on strategic blend management and cost efficiency of titanium and nickel materials. The successful candidate will enhance blend optimization strategies across all melt facilities, manage inventory costs, and maximize revenue. This position offers a unique opportunity to spearhead innovative strategies, impact our bottom line, and shape the future of material optimization through high-level strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Blend Optimization: Own and drive blend optimization throughout the melt facilities, managing inventory, costs, and maximizing revenue.
  • Strategic Development: Develop blend optimization strategies and programs to align with annual and five-year business plans.
  • Operational Management: Meet operational requirements, manage working capital targets, and leverage supplier capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with other business units and stakeholders to optimize revert consumption.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor blend performance, drive corrective actions, project plans, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to ensure understanding and mitigation of quality, safety, and production risks.
  • Data Analytics Partnership: Partner with Data Analytics to develop tools for monitoring and driving revert supply/consumption.
  • Material Availability: Facilitate meetings with melt departments to ensure materials meet operational requirements.
  • Revert Streams Identification: Support the identification and qualification of new revert streams.
  • Procurement Support: Assist the raw material Procurement team by identifying non-recyclable and slow-moving revert.
  • Market Trend Monitoring: Monitor market conditions and trends to adjust raw material procurement strategies.
  • Process Documentation: Drive documentation and change control of key processes.
  • Strategic Objective Setting: Develop and set strategic objectives for the business function or team.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate complex flow paths, identify key control parameters, and develop processes/tools for improvement.
  • Project Management: Balance multiple projects with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem Resolution: Analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively through long-term solutions.
  • Conflict Negotiation: Negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Team Motivation: Foster collaboration, inspire confidence, and motivate individuals across diverse teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in raw material blend management or revert conversion.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in raw material blend management or revert conversion.
  • 5 years of proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • APICS certification.
