Job Purpose
The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements, and supporting business decision-making through accurate financial analysis. The role contributes to the organization's financial integrity by maintaining effective accounting processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts.
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries and ensure accurate posting of financial transactions.
  • Manage cash flow monitoring and bank reconciliations

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights into business performance.
  • Prepare budget variance and financial performance reports.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes

Compliance and Controls

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT, tax, and statutory returns.
  • Maintain internal financial controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation.

Payroll and Treasury

  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and related accounting entries.
  • Monitor company bank accounts and manage treasury-related activities.
  • Ensure timely payment of suppliers and collection of outstanding accounts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
