Scope and General Purpose:

Based in Windhoek, Namibia, the Financial Manager is responsibility for all aspects of finance within the Hotel and Casino Operation.

The Hotel business comprises a 150 bedroom four star hotel, casino, large conferencing and banqueting facilities, and a large food and beverage operation.
The incumbent will be responsible for the leadership of the finance and accounting function.
As a member of the Executive Committee the incumbent must be a professional, demonstrate excellent financial ability including analytical and accounting skills which include forecasting, revenue management, capital expenditure planning, budgeting, cash flow management, monthly reporting, and working with the various departments within the Hotel and Casino business, and assist in developing and implementing of strategies that will ensure that the Hotel and Casinos objectives are met.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of a relevant Diploma, or Bachelors Degree, or completion of Articles with an auditing company, or similar professional qualification, and with a minimum of eight (8) years previous experience in a similar position, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Proven business and commercial acumen with above average financial management ability.
Good computer literacy skills
Highly developed analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
Leadership and people development skills
Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Uncompromising integrity and ability to maintain a high level of compliance and good corporate governance.
Good knowledge of accounting systems : Accpac, Nebula, INFOR, and Draftworks an advantage.
Computer literacy, which must include good working knowledge of current operating systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must be prepared to work overtime when required. Limited travel; both in and outside Namibia as and when necessary.
An excellent level of commercial awareness.
Ability to create, train and mould a cohesive financial team.
Well-developed business acumen and integrity.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Supervision of the entire accounting and administration process of the Hotel and casino in accordance with Group accounting policies and procedures.
Preparation of Financial reporting packs.
Monthly reporting and statistical submissions.
Attend business operational meetings.
Maintain and control reporting standards.
Compliance with all company and departmental policies, procedures and compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
Review where necessary contracts and agreements.
Management of the Company Insurance Portfolio renewal including liasing with the insurance brokers.
Management of the budgetary process and review of budget.
Financial policies and procedures.
Supervision and finalisation of financial year ends and audited financial statements.
Liason and management of the external auditors in compliance with the companies requirements.
Cashflow management.
Liaison with external service providers.
Assistance in the preparation of company tax computation and other tax management.
Working closely with head office.
Deal with ad hoc requests as and when required.
Feasibilities and financial modelling.
Attendance at Board meetings.
Company Secretarial including preparation of meeting minutes.
Monthly statutory returns, VAT, PAYE, etc.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and reporting requirements in terms of the Companies status as a Public Enterprise.
