Vacancy: Operations Manager

Purpose of Role:
The purpose of the Operations Manager is to lead and optimize daily operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, and a solid track record in improving operational efficiency. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards, while driving continuous improvement across all operational areas. Prior experience in the energy sector is not required, but the ability to quickly understand technical environments and adapt to a fast-paced, mission-driven industry is essential.
Key Performance Areas:
- Oversee the daily operations of all technical, logistics, and project teams.
- Ensure the effective execution of solar energy projects from initiation to commissioning.
- Manage resource planning, procurement, inventory, and supply chain logistics.
- Monitor and enhance operational processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Lead and mentor operational staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with senior management to align operational activities with strategic goals.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across all operations.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to the executive team.
Person Specification (Minimum Requirements):
- A relevant Degree would be advantageous.
- 10 years relevant experience covering all operational facets of business, including asset; fleet; logistics; project and team management.
- Of which at least 5 years on Mid/Senior Management level, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- At least 3 to 5 years experience leading and managing teams.
- Fluent communicator in English and Afrikaans, in verbal and written communication.
- Drivers license is a pre-requisite.
