A leading Namibian term-lender who provides term loan solutions to all permanently employed Government employees is looking for an experienced and confident leader to join their team.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Analyze and identify potential problems and points of friction and work to find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue in collaboration with the management team.
  • Monitor industry trends, assess the competitive landscape and identify opportunities to expand or shift course in order to take advantage of changes in the market and opportunities for growth
  • The jobholder is expected to make judgement calls which are not governed by standard operating procedures / processes and should therefore have a comprehensive knowledge of functional policies / legislation.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures complying with legal regulations.
  • Ensure timely fault reporting on all systems and follow up to ensure speedy resolution by respective vendors
  • Co-ordinates the management of vendors providing security and maintenance services to the Company and ensures that all Service Levels Agreements are enforced and renewed / renegotiated as per company guidelines.
  • Review all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted timeously for payment.
  • Ensure that all budgeted projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage service level agreements with applicable service providers to contribute to an always-on, always-available environment.
  • Establishing and ensuring a fit-for-purpose customer service centre guaranteeing high-quality service and customer retention.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Providing business intelligence through the use of appropriate tools to improve the performance of the business.
  • Promote the use of technology solutions that boost operational efficiency and enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Other reasonable duties as may be assigned by the managing director
Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5 years experience in a similar field, in more than one relevant job
  • At least 3 years experience on a management level
  • Industry knowledge preferably in microfinance or financial services
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant software applications including spreadsheets and operational management tools is essential.
  • Knowledge of business principles is required.
  • Strong understanding of micro-lending practices, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
  • Proven proficiency in English and one of the indigenous languages of Namibia is vital.
