POSITON NAME: Auto Workshop Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and motivate a workshop team, maintaining discipline and high-performance standards at all times.
  • Plan and allocate daily job cards to ensure throughput targets are met.
  • Monitor and control workshop workflow to minimise vehicle downtime and turnaround times.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair work meets quality standards before vehicles are returned to service.
  • Coordinate parts ordering, workshop consumables, and liaise with stock department to avoid delays.
  • Oversee and sign off on:
    - Job cards, service records, and workshop reports.
    - Vehicle inspection and damage reports.
    - Preventative maintenance schedules.
    - Workshop productivity and daily job completion.
  • Schedule and monitor:
    - Workshop staff schedules.
    - Vehicle breakdown callouts.
    - Vehicle service history and maintenance logs.
  • Enforce health, safety, and housekeeping standards in the workshop at all times.
  • Identify training needs and support the development of workshop staff.
  • Be willing to work on weekends and public holidays
  • Must reside in Windhoek

 Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified mechanic with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience, including a management position.
  • Proven ability to lead a team with authority, respect, and accountability.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workflow, priorities, and deadlines under pressure.
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken).
    Valid driving license and transport.
  • Experience with Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser vehicles is advantageous.
