Job Summary
As a Commercial Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing, heating, and gas systems for commercial projects. You will work under the direction of the division supervisor or site foreman. You will work on both new construction and retrofit installations, ensuring all work meets current codes, safety standards, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Install & Maintain Systems: Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing, heating systems, water distribution, and natural gas/propane systems in accordance with code
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow Occupational Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and plumbing/gasfitting codes to ensure safe and compliant work
  • Customer Communication: Interact with clients, contractors, and team members in a professional and courteous manner
  • Work Planning: Ensure materials and supplies are ordered in advance and available on site when needed
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and work performed
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to apprentices and new team members
  • Site Maintenance: Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area; participate in site clean-up as part of project completion
  • Safety Participation: Attend safety/toolbox meetings, complete inspections, and actively participate in the company safety program

Skills & Qualifications

  • Journeyman Plumber and Gasfitter certification (required)
  • Knowledge of current plumbing and gas codes and best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to safe work practices and high-quality workmanship
  • Experience with commercial plumbing/heating installations and gas systems
  • Class 5 driver's licence with a clean abstract
  • Fall Arrest, Manlift, and First Aid
