Summary of Position

Responsible in managing and leading a team of designers, engineers and research analysts in providing technical support and design solutions for projects involved; this role is expected to ensure design efficiency and optimization of a project meet companys expectations while establishing companys standard and complying to statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define roles and responsibilities of the department staff
  • Set and meet departments key milestones and development plan
  • Manage all processes related to design between various stakeholders; includes but not limited to presentation, confirmation, approval, etc.
  • Develop clients project brief
  • Explore and invite competent consultants via assessment process
  • Manage coordination for stages of design between all stakeholders; concept, schematic, design development, tender and construction.
  • Facilitate and conduct design document review; includes but not limited to layout, section, elevation, typical detail, schedule, specification, coordination drawings, 3D visualization, walkthrough animation etc.
  • Manage design archive pertaining to project; design brief, sign-off, mood board, catalogue, product sample, etc.
  • Identify and verify all design data during project feasibility stage; planning parameters, net area, gross area, total units, building height, parking, etc.
  • Review and ensure design is compliant to regulatory and legislative requirement and is according to design brief.
  • Review design to minimize design error and ensure design is safe and enhances user experience.
  • Participate in technical and/or design meetings and provide continual input to optimize design and minimize futile work
  • Other task as assigned by Senior Management

Job Qualification:

  • Masters Degree in Architecture / Interior Design or equivalent
  • Min. 8-year experience as a consultant (preferred) or with a developer firm
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong technical knowledge in Architecture and Design.
  • Familiar with Code, Standards and Authority requirements.
  • Proficient in industry-standard design tools & programs; AutoCAD, MS. Office, Adobe Creative Suites, etc.
  • Able to multitask; manage multiple projects at different stages simultaneously.
  • Able to lead a team of designers, engineers and research.
  • Able to problem-solve, is creative and decisive
  • Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to review and interpret drawings from various trades.
  • Able to pay close attention to detail.
