About the job 2nd shift Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Supervises work assignment and personnel performance of staff technicians; hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates staff.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Requisitions and keeps a supply of spare parts.
  • Modifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Interprets company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Enforces a safe workplace by supervising all tasks performed in accordance with O.S.H.A., E.P.A., F.D.A., Food Safety, Lock-out/Tag-out safety rules, codes policies, and regulations, and Confined Entry policies.
  • Contributes to a safe workplace by enforcing and complying with Federal, State, and Company rules and procedures.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; BA/BS degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • 5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing plant environment.
  • Must have a very strong industrial electrical knowledge in motor control, VFD, and PLC
  • Additional mechanical, welding, refrigeration, and plumbing knowledge preferred.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows; MS Word Processing software; MS Excel Spreadsheet software; MS Outlook; Crystal Report Writer; Internet software; MP2 Access 2000.
