Our client, Carpe Diem Developers, is looking for a Project Manager. 

Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico

Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and oversee the development, implementation, and completion of commercial and industrial solar and projects in Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, possess a strong background in the solar industry, and demonstrate exceptional organizational and leadership skills. This role is instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Compensation:

  • $100,000 to $150,000 USD annual salary, commensurate with experience
  • Competitive per diem and travel reimbursement

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.

Team Leadership & Communication:

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and vendors, ensuring clear and consistent communication.

Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Ensure all projects comply with local, federal, and industry standards, including permitting and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality outcomes and address any issues proactively.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid project. delays or cost overruns.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, financial tracking, and post-project evaluations.
  • Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders on project status.

Process and Workflow Mapping:

  • Create detailed workflows of permitting and interconnection processes.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders to improve and streamline processes.

Business Development Support:

  • Support ongoing business development efforts by attending virtual and on-site meetings.
  • Create detailed EPC estimates and inform financial proformas.
  • Review bids from contactors and vendors.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial and industrial electrical project management; experience with solar projects preferred.

Mission-driven: Must be passionate about building positive social impact in Puerto Rico through renewable energy.

Skills:

- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheets, Asana, Procore or similar).

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong technical skills and acumen (both software and hardware).

- Ability to perform QA/QC in-field and communicate with in-field personnel

- Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and lead weekly meetings.

- Must be able to visit project sites by car throughout Puerto Rico at least once/week.
