Our client, JPI Construction is looking for a Project Engineer.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for quality control and technical issues on a given project or assignment
- Provide technical, design, quality control and managerial support to Project Managers in bidding and running projects
- Provide Business Development, Engineering and Corporate support for Project Managers and Operations as assigned
- Assigned to a Project Manager on a given project, or to an Operations Manager.
- When assigned to work on estimates you will report to the Chief Estimator.
- Administratively report to the Operations Manager .
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that all JPI Construction and OSHA safety regulations are met and enforced, responsible for safety on site.
- Assists in the preparation of bids through take-offs, design and pricing
- Performs specific business development assignments
- Prepares submittals, designs, job cost reports, material purchases, and accurate record keeping
- Attends client meetings and participates in presentations, closings, negotiations, etc, as required
- Responsible for the set-up, completion, and reporting of pile and anchor load tests, and any other testing that may be required
- Prepares, reviews and tracks change orders, extra work orders and back-charge documentation with Project Manager
- Performs claim analysis including all supporting estimates
- Manages Field Engineer(s) and/or act as Assistant Project Manager, as required
- Manages Field crew(s) and/or act as Superintendent In Training, as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree
- Experience (Minimum 2-4 years) with construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, building materials, surveying, design, or geotechnical work.
- Basic knowledge of bidding and job costing procedures
- Basic experience with client meetings, screening project opportunities, and making presentations concerning project work
- OSHA 10-hour training course
- First-Aid/CPR
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Enthusiastic and persistent regarding, safety, quality and ethical dealings on the jobsite
- Knowledgeable in structural and geotechnical designs related to our techniques
- Able to assess opportunities and present the summary to management
- Able to evaluate primary technical risks of an opportunity by review of an RFP and identify additional information that may be needed
- Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel and Outlook relative to reporting site construction and engineering activities
- Capable of performing surveying tasks
- Proficient with AutoCAD

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,570.00 - $70,505.00 per year
