Our client, Bermúdez, Longo, Díaz-Massó, LLC, is looking for a Resource Development Manager. 

Position Title: Resource Development Manager

Classification: Exempt

Department: Resource Development & Program Services Department

Reports to: Operations Associate Director

Supervise to: Three (3) employees

Base Salary: $55K

Location: San Juan, PR /2 days remote

General Duties Description:

The Resource Development Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing strategies to secure funding and resources for the organization. This role involves identifying potential donors, cultivating relationships, preparing and/or overseeing grant proposals, organizing fundraising events, and managing donor databases. The Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, Operations Associate Director, board members and staff to achieve the organizations financial goals.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Funding Strategy and Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive resource development plan that includes individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, special events, and online fundraising.
  • Set annual fundraising goals and track progress towards achieving them.

2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
  • Develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship programs to ensure long- term donor retention and satisfaction.
  • Manage major gift campaigns and planned giving initiatives.

3. Grant Writing and Management:

  • Research, identify, and apply for grants from foundations corporations, and government entities.
  • Prepare and submit grant proposals, and manage grant reporting requirements.

4. Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Plan and execute fundraising and community outreach events.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including budgeting, marketing and sponsorship and volunteer management.

5. Communications and Marketing:

  • Work in coordination with the Communications team to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to raise awareness of the organizations mission and programs.

6. Database Management:

  • Maintain and manage the donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all donations, pledges, and donor information.
  • Generate reports on fundraising activities, donor trends, and revenue forecasts.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in business, communications, marketing, non-profit management or related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in resource development, fundraising or marketing, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and grants.

Skills:

  • Superior oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Superior interpersonal skills, ability to interact successfully with diverse people.
  • Strong initiative and follow-thru and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to manage a team.
  • Proficient in donor management software.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, donor relations, and non-profit management.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require evening and weekend work.
  • Ability to travel as needed for donor meetings and events.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job is performed primarily in an office environment, where the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
