Our client,TL Talent Advisors, is looking for a Plant Accountant
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Plant Accountant to join our team. The Plant Accountant will be responsible for tracking and evaluating day-to-day activities at the plant, including analysis of financial information and reports to determine or maintain the plants record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities. Our ideal candidate has solid knowledge of GAAP, superior analytical skills, and a keen understanding of manufacturing cost accounting and financial reporting. Ultimately, the Plant Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial management of the plant in alignment with our companys financial goals and objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment.
- Display analytical, problem-solving and process improvement competencies.
- Knowledge of accounting systems (AX AND Net Suite is a plus)
- Must have advanced Excel skills.
- Fully Bilingual for effective communication.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and control plant costs, including material, labor and overhead expenses.
- Perform cost accounting activities, including standard cost updates and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts and provide explanations for deviations from budgeted figures.
- Provide financial assistance to non-accounting team members by responding to financial questions and concerns to meet business needs.
- Timely and accurate preparation of monthly journal entries, monthly account reconciliations and monthly financial reports and analysis.
- Manage website and portals for required tax payments and filings throughout the fiscal year (SURI, CRIM360 and other websites)
- Management of inventory to include valuation, tracking, and counts (full physical or cycle counting)
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with auditors and provides needed information for the annual internal/external audits.
- Research and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies.
- Adherence to Financial Month End closing schedule and communicate any issues.
- Member of ISO team ensuring all control and documentation are in place to maintain ISO certificate.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Mental Requirements: Reading comprehension to understand technical releases, memos, spreadsheets, and accounting principles. Strong working knowledge of basic mathematical concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required to make comparisons/computations, to interpret trend differences, and to find and resolve inconsistencies in data. Work initiation and strict attention to detail for all duties. Awareness of time to meet deadlines. Flexibility to handle multiple concurrent tasks and frequent interruptions. Ability to handle confidential payroll, cost, and profitability data.
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Occasional travel may be required.
