Our client, Connelly Capital, is looking for a Fund Accountant
Connelly Capital ("Connelly") is looking for a full-time Fund Accountant to join our team. Connelly is a Puerto Rico Private Equity Act 60 Fund Manager with over $600M Assets Under Management ("AUM") and an expert finance firm that serves a diverse base of Puerto Rico, United States Virgin Islands and United States based and international clients. We assist our clients with their acquisition, divestiture, restructuring, capital raising, private equity management, governance structuring and business valuation needs. General Description
Ensures the integrity of Connelly's and/or its clients accounting information by recording, verifying and analyzing transactions. Performs ongoing monitoring of accounts and portfolios to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, legal documentation, accurate books & records, and internal policies & procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors accounts daily to ensure books & records are always updated for Connellys entities and identified clients. Categorize and record all financial transactions (e.g., income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity), accordingly.
- Reconciles bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts monthly.
- Prepares the Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements monthly for Connelly entities and clients.
- Maintains vendor and customer records, track payables and receivables, and provide aging reports.
- Navigates through the account online portal and can execute ACH, Wires, and any transfers seamlessly and timely.
- Supports in the preparation of invoices and collections on an ongoing basis.
- Records payroll transactions based on information provided by the client or third-party payroll provider.
- Ensures bookkeeping practices align with GAAP standards and support compliance with tax or regulatory requirements, including oversight of SURI account and filing of reports (such as quarterly 480s), accordingly, to ensure good standing.
- Assists with the preparation and coordination of annual audits and tax returns.
- Supports with other as-needed initiatives assigned by the Manager in the Operations and Accounting unit.
Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in accounting / bookkeeping.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- CPA designation is a plus
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Spanish.
- Organized, able to work with multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent teamwork and problem solver.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge in MS Office Programs. Knowledge in accounting system Sage is a plus.
Salary: Up to $60K
