About the job Production Manager
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Production Manager to oversee daily production activities and lead a team toward achieving key performance metrics in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. As a Production Manager, you will play a vital role in guiding and developing your team while driving continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Execute and manage daily production schedules, including workstation assignments, shift rotations, employee breaks, and training needs.
- Monitor and adjust workflows to ensure operational targets are met, maintaining efficient production processes.
- Collaborate with shipping and material planning teams to ensure on-time delivery and efficient materials storage.
- Facilitate resolution of machine or process failures and communicate production expectations to staff.
- Lead and enforce safety protocols, quality standards, and behavioral expectations across the department.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance processes and reduce waste.
- Foster cooperation and communication within the department and between shifts.
- Provide leadership and development for team members through training programs, performance management, and mentoring.
- Become a technical expert in production equipment, including troubleshooting and collaborating with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Study current production methods and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; maintenance experience is a plus.
- 2-5 years of leadership experience with increasing responsibility in a production setting.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills with a results-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
- Analytical and process-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Progressive, team-oriented individual with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Education:
- Associate degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Management preferred; Bachelors degree is a plus.
