About the job Maintenance Technician
We have an immediate opening for an Industrial Mechanic / Electrician to join our existing maintenance group. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment to support the company's quality, cost, and production objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a background in industrial maintenance, and a commitment to safety.
This position requires the ability to work ONSITE and be flexible regarding shift assignment and emergency call-ins.

- Pay Rate: The expected hourly wage is $26-$36/hr depending on experience. Pay will be offered based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, and certifications.
- Schedule: 1st/2nd & 3rd shift hours available ONSITE. Must be able to respond and report to work during off hours when emergency repairs are required, able to work overtime, and flexible to work off-shift hours if needed or required.

Responsibilities Include:
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Ensures machinery and mechanical equipment are operational by completing PM requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Locates issues by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring tools, and applying root cause analysis.
- Repair and Replacement: Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools. Examines and inspects removed parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to determine dimensional requirements before replacing with new parts.
- Adjustment: Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Fabrication: Fabricates or repairs parts using shop tooling and equipment.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Documentation: Maintains and updates PMs and work order completion information into the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and completes proper daily reports.
- Inventory: Places order requests for necessary equipment, parts, and supplies for purchasing, and informs the supervisor of tools and supplies required to safeguard stock.
- Safety and Environment: Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and ensuring adherence to established safety procedures (e.g., Lockout/Tagout).
- Teamwork & Training: Maintains continuity among work teams between other shifts for project and repair work. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Proven work experience as a Mechanical Technician.
- Basic computer skills to record statistics, order supplies, or perform training.
- Knowledge of installation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing and office equipment.
- Experience with Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.
- Experience with Mig and stick welding, as well as plumbing and fabrication.
- 120v, 240v, and 480v 3-Phase Electrical troubleshooting knowledge is a plus.
- Extrusion experience is a plus.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply information such as lockout/tag out procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to operate equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, man lifts, and other mobile equipment.
