We're Hiring: Maritime Operations Advisor
We are looking for a Maritime Operations Advisor with hands-on seafaring experience, ideally a former Second Officer, Chief Officer, or Master Mariner from the commercial shipping industry. The ideal candidate will bring deep maritime expertise to support our data, product, and customer success teams by reviewing navigation and safety events, improving platform accuracy, and providing operational insights that reflect real-world maritime practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review safety and navigation events detected by the platform and identify those that are operationally or navigationally significant.
- Assist the Customer Success team in identifying and compiling noteworthy events to share with clients.
- Flag false positives and borderline cases to improve event accuracy and overall data quality.
- Provide maritime and navigational expertise to support customer case analysis and executive reviews.
- Partner with Product and Data teams to provide operational and navigational guidance for product improvements and quality assurance.
- Participate in internal projects involving data validation, operational analysis, and maritime content creation.
- Help define best practices, labeling standards, and operational taxonomies for maritime safety events.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on maritime procedures, bridge operations, navigation, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Former Second Officer, Chief Officer, or Master Mariner on commercial vessels.
- Strong understanding of navigation, COLREGS, bridge operations, and maritime safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to clearly explain complex maritime situations in a practical and objective manner.
- Passion for applying maritime expertise in a technology-driven environment.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Maritime-related degree or professional certification.
- Additional language proficiency is an advantage.
- Experience working with maritime technology, safety systems, or data-driven platforms is a plus.
Work Setup:
- 100% Remote
- Full-time role following the Israeli business time zone
Salary:
- USD 5 per hour
