We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist (PS4308) to join our team on a full-time contract basis. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring goods and services are acquired efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily procurement and purchasing activities, including requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier communications.
Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers and service providers.
Research markets and suppliers to identify competitive pricing, quality products, and reliable services.
Request, review, and compare quotations, bids, proposals, and supplier pricing.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements when appropriate.
Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements, specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Monitor purchase orders and supplier deliveries to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment.
Track procurement activities, expenditures, savings, and supplier performance.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, vendor information, and procurement documentation.
Work with finance and accounting teams to resolve invoice, payment, and purchase-order discrepancies.
Support supplier onboarding, qualification, performance reviews, and contract renewals.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve purchasing processes, and increase operational efficiency.
Assist with sourcing projects, competitive bidding exercises, and contract negotiations.
Monitor supplier risks, product availability, lead times, and potential supply disruptions.
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
Prepare procurement reports, spend analyses, and management updates as required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or vendor management.
Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, sourcing, and contract administration.
Experience working with purchase orders, bids, quotes, contracts, invoices, and supplier documentation.
Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with ERP or procurement management systems.
Ability to manage multiple procurement projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Experience with spend analysis, strategic sourcing, or procurement reporting is preferred.
CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, or similar procurement certification is a plus.
Compensation & Contract Benefits:
Annual Contract Rate: $87,000 – $113,000 per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibility.
Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Contract Duration: Initial contract assignment with potential for extension or renewal based on business needs and performance.
