Mechanical Engineer (CAD & DFM Specialist) - Consumer Products

Location: Remote (US based client)

Salary: USD (but will be competitive as per the Pakistani Market, will pay in USD)

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in CAD and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). We make consumer products. If you are someone who loves to make consumer products, this role is for you.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing mechanical designs that are both functional and optimized for production. 

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design of mechanical solutions using CAD software, ensuring that all designs meet functional, aesthetic, and cost requirements.

- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize designs for efficient, scalable production.

- Select materials and manufacturing processes that balance durability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.

- Create prototypes and conduct testing to ensure design reliability and performance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align designs with project goals and requirements.

- Interface with manufacturing partners to ensure smooth production processes and address any design-related issues.

- Document design processes, materials, and testing results comprehensively.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design with a strong focus on CAD and DFM.

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, ) is essential.

- Extensive experience applying DFM principles to optimize designs for manufacturing.

- Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, and 3D printing.

- Proven ability to balance design functionality with production efficiency and cost considerations.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in consumer product design or related industries.

- Familiarity with industrial design principles.
