About the job Credit Controller
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices
- Contact customers regarding outstanding payments and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of all communication and actions taken regarding credit control
- Collaborate with the sales/operational team to address any credit-related issues or concerns
- Conduct credit checks on new customers and make recommendations on credit limits
- Prepare and distribute monthly statements to customers
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to credit control
- Creditworthiness Assessment: Conduct thorough credit checks on potential new customers to determine their eligibility for credit facilities.
- Payment Allocation: Properly allocate incoming payments to their respective invoices, ensuring accurate account reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in credit control or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse data accurately
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
- Familiarity with financial management principles
