The Role and Responsibilities: As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our Road freight business division. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and secure new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and build long-term relationships with clients. You will be responsible for understanding market trends, assessing customer needs, and presenting tailored logistics solutions that align with our service offerings. Key responsibilities include:
- Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and business opportunities.
- Analyse industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the market.
- Sales and Business Development:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Present our freight forwarding services to prospective clients, highlighting our value proposition.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
- Proposal and Contract Negotiation:
- Prepare and present detailed proposals and quotations to clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to secure new business.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, finance, and customer service, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop effective promotional materials and campaigns.
- Reporting and Performance Metrics:
- Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on business development initiatives and outcomes.
The Person
The right candidate for this role must come with Freight Forwarding experience, they are open to someone who has come from an Operations Background looking to progress in sales Or you can be an 'already successful' Road Freight Sales professional.

The Package
Salary: £40,000-50,000
Car allowance: £9,000
OTE: £20,000-30,000
