Job Description: Assistant Project Manager (Civil and Commercial Construction)

We're seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the Austin, TX area. If you're passionate about civil and commercial construction projects and have experience handling RFIs, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Support: Assist the Project Manager in all aspects of civil and commercial construction projects, from inception to completion.
  2. RFI Management: Take the lead in managing RFIs, including tracking, coordinating responses, and ensuring timely resolution.
  3. Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  4. Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  5. Schedule Management: Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, and identifying potential delays.
  6. Budget Oversight: Help monitor project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  7. Quality Control: Conduct quality inspections and ensure that work meets project specifications and industry standards.
  8. Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication between project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in assistant project management roles within the civil and commercial construction industry.
  • RFI Handling: Demonstrated experience in managing RFIs and coordinating responses effectively.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software and tools, such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
