DevOps Engineer (Hybrid)

** This role requires minimum B2 level of Geman. All interviews will be conducted in German & internal communication is in German as well**

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our growing DevOps & Infrastructure team. In this hybrid role based in Osnabrück, you will play a key part in designing, automating, and operating complex multi-cloud and containerized environments.

• Location: Osnabrück (Hybrid: 2 days onsite, 3 days home office)
• Salary Range: €50,000 – €62,000 gross per year (plus additional compensation for on-call duties)
• Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
• Language: German (B2 minimum)

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Automation: Automate the provisioning of new system environments in Microsoft Azure, AWS, and T Cloud Public using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), reducing manual configuration efforts.
• Container Operations: Operate, maintain, and continuously enhance container platforms based on OKD/OpenShift and Docker, alongside the applications running on them.
• Cloud Optimization: Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security across diverse multi-cloud and hybrid system landscapes.
• Release Management: Plan and execute deployments, updates, and releases to ensure changes are implemented smoothly and reliably with minimal downtime.
• Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks in close collaboration with your team.
• Collaboration & Standards: Work closely with software development teams to build secure, efficient applications, and help establish cross-platform automation and monitoring standards.
• On-Call & Documentation: Maintain transparent documentation of systems and processes, and participate in a compensated on-call rotation after a structured onboarding period.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must-Haves:

• Cloud Experience: Solid hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or T Cloud Public).
• Container Expertise: Proven experience with Kubernetes-based container platforms (especially OKD/OpenShift) and Docker.
• Infrastructure as Code: Practical proficiency with Terraform.
• DevOps Tooling: Familiarity with Git, modern CI/CD pipelines, and structured release processes.
• Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in a DevOps, cloud, or platform engineering role.
• Language Skills: Professional proficiency in German (minimum B2 level).

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with Ansible or similar automation tools.
• Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications (and the readiness to acquire more with our support).
• A degree in (Business) Informatics, a relevant IT apprenticeship, or equivalent practical background.
