About the job Cantonese Speaking Customer Advisor (on-site)

Are you ready to dive into the fast-paced world of digital hospitality, gourmet dining, or tech-driven travel tech? We are seeking enthusiastic, service-minded Cantonese-Speaking Customer Experience Advisors to join our growing team in the beautiful coastal tech hub of Penang, Malaysia.

In this position, you will serve as the primary contact for our premier Booking App Initiative. Your mission is to support everyday consumers and commercial partners—primarily located in Hong Kong, Macau, and other Cantonese-speaking regions—with booking logistics, app navigation, and technical troubleshooting, all while delivering a world-class customer experience.

No experience in customer service or call centers? No problem. We provide a fully paid, 4-week onboarding academy to equip you with all the skills and knowledge you need to succeed. Whether you are a recent graduate launching an international tech career, an experienced professional looking for a change of scenery, or an applicant from Hong Kong or mainland China seeking an exciting new opportunity abroad, we want to hear from you.

Daily Responsibilities

As a Customer Experience Advisor, your typical day will involve:

  • Omnichannel Support: Resolve incoming inquiries, complaints, and user issues via phone, live chat, and email in fluent Cantonese.
  • Booking Lifecycle Management: Help users schedule, modify, or cancel reservations, process secure payments, and explain platform-exclusive deals.
  • Merchant Coordination: Act as the vital bridge between app users and third-party vendors (such as restaurants, hotels, and transport companies) to smooth out booking updates or fulfill special requests.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Assist users with basic account settings, app navigation, and digital checkout issues.
  • Brand Advocacy: Handle customer pain points with active listening, patience, and high emotional intelligence to turn every interaction into a positive experience.
  • Data Logging: Accurately document support tickets, customer feedback, and case histories in our internal CRM database (using English or Traditional Chinese as required).

Candidate Profile (Requirements)

Language Proficiency (Mandatory)

  • Cantonese: Native-level or near-native verbal fluency. You must also be highly skilled at reading and typing Traditional Chinese characters for digital chat and email support.
  • English: Minimum B2 proficiency (Upper-Intermediate). You should comfortably understand internal training manuals, participate in corporate communications, and navigate an English-based computer operating system.

Qualifications & Traits

  • Education: A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any field. (Recent graduates in English Literature, Hospitality Management, or Mass Communications are highly encouraged to apply).
  • Experience: Prior experience in call centers, customer success, or the tourism/hospitality industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable navigating mobile app ecosystems, managing workflows across multiple screens, and maintaining a typing speed of 40 words per minute (WPM) or higher.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work a rotational shift schedule (including weekends and public holidays) to support our global user base.
