In this pivotal role, you will represent the client's interests (Bauherrenvertretung) in project and site meetings, orchestrating complex work packages along major transportation corridors. You will bridge communication between external planning offices, specialist engineering consultancies, public authorities, and contractors to ensure that cost, quality, and deadline objectives are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Trade Coordination: Steer and coordinate technical equipment trades along major federal road corridors (including street lighting, traffic signal systems, road markings, traffic management systems, and winter service logistics).
  • Client Representation (Bauherrenvertretung): Represent the project owner's interests during construction and project meetings, ensuring clear, goal-oriented alignment among all stakeholders.
  • Multi-Stream Management: Maintain a structured, holistic overview of multiple parallel workstreams, individual measures, and technical interfaces.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage and coordinate external planning firms, specialized engineers, municipal authorities, and executing contractors.
  • Project Control: Safeguard adherence to cost frameworks, milestone schedules, and quality standards across all project lifecycle phases.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation: Early detection of potential project risks, developing actionable countermeasures, and providing well-founded decision-making proposals for executive leadership.
  • Permitting & Procurement: Support procurement, tendering, permitting, and execution workflows to ensure seamless project delivery.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Location: Based in Ludwigshafen am Rhein or nearby/within commuting distance to attend occasional local site visits or key meetings when needed.
  • Education: Master's degree (or equivalent diploma) in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen with PM focus), Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on project management experience steering complex technical, infrastructure, or construction-related projects.
  • Language Proficiency: Native-level German skills (C2 level) for precise legal, technical, and official stakeholder communications.
  • Technical & Organizational Mastery: Strong organizational talent with a structured, solution-driven approach and the proven ability to manage multiple high-priority items simultaneously.
  • Leadership & Assertiveness: Excellent communication skills, diplomatic tact, and assertiveness when aligning multi-stakeholder groups.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Recognized project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA).
  • Practical background in municipal road, transport, or civil engineering infrastructure projects.
