German Speaking Network & IT Administrator (m/f/d)

Location: Salem area / Lake Constance, Germany (Hybrid – up to 1 day remote/week)

Our focus is on modular, high-performance software platforms designed to visualize, analyze, and process intricate spatial data. Our technology is relied upon globally by industry leaders and government institutions across defense, intelligence, and environmental monitoring.

We are looking for an experienced German-Speaking Network & IT Administrator (m/f/d) to take full responsibility for our corporate network, Linux infrastructure, and cybersecurity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Operations: Oversee daily operational stability, performance monitoring, and long-term expansion of central IT assets.
  • Network & Security: Maintain and fortify LAN/WAN connections, VPN pathways, and perimeter firewalls to ensure maximum uptime and defense.
  • Linux Server Administration: Control and optimize Linux server environments, managing user privileges, directory structures, and security access.
  • Deployments & Backups: Execute system provisioning, patch deployment, routine maintenance, and reliable backup strategies across internal tools and products.
  • Internal Support & Onboarding: Function as the primary technical contact for staff, resolving hardware/software issues and provisioning assets for new hires.
  • Project Support: Configure hardware configurations for client deliveries, including occasional travel for on-site client installations or servicing (1–2 times per year).

Candidate Profile

  • Experience & Education: Background in IT through a degree, vocational program, or equivalent practical experience, backed by 3 to 5 years in network and Linux administration.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Linux OS (required), network protocols (LAN/WAN/VPN), firewalls, and security practices (encryption, certificates).
  • Mindset: Strong analytical reasoning for effective troubleshooting, structured execution, strong personal accountability, and a team-first mindset.
  • Languages & Clearance: Native/C2 German proficiency alongside solid English (B2 minimum). EU or NATO citizenship is required to satisfy security clearance demands.
  • Location: Residing within a 45–60 minute travel radius of Salem or willing to relocate (onsite focus with 1 remote work day allowed weekly).
